“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD
determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9”
Describing
my life as it is right now can easily be summed up in one sentence: “Not what I
thought.” I praise God for His work in my life, and that His plans are greater—and
better—than mine.
What
does my life look like right now? This fall, I have been in the “in-between”
stage. I graduated this past summer, but I don’t start my College Plus studies
until January. But my time has been full to the brim!
Right
now, I have a fairly full schedule. I hope to elaborate more on each facet of
my schedule in the future, but here’s just a peek into an average week:
Sunday—Serve either on
the worship team at church, or in the children’s ministry. Attend worship as a
family. Sometimes stay afterwards to babysit for various classes going on.
Monday—Get up early and
go running before leaving for work. Nanny in the morning. Go grocery shopping and
get gas afterward. Every other week, have lunch and do a Bible study with one
of my mentors. Spend the rest of the day at home.
Tuesday—Get my weekly allergy
shots. Then go over to church to work for 4 hours. Attend staff meeting while I’m
there. Go home and teach a homeschooling class to Josiah. Cook dinner and
dessert for the family.
Wednesday—Get up early to
run before leaving for work. Nanny in the morning. Go home for a few hours
before leaving for youth band practice. Play in the band during youth group,
and assist with the middle and high school students. Stay late to clean up.
Thursday—My sleep-in day. J Have breakfast
with the family and work at home for a few hours. Go to piano lessons with Roma
around lunch time. Return and continue working and catching up at home in the
afternoon.
Friday—Get up early and
run with my siblings. This is mostly a catch-up day for me at home. Sometimes
we’ll be preparing to have guests over on the weekend, or some other special
project.
Saturday—This varies by
week! Sometimes I’m running a race, going to a youth activity, having friends
over, hosting a cobbler party for 95 people, or going out to dinner with the
family. It just depends! J
My
life isn’t what I expected it to be. But that’s the fun of it! God continues to
bring new opportunities into my life, and I continue to learn how to follow and
trust in Him!
I
hope to post here once a week. It will probably vary a bit, but all of the
posts will be focused on my non-traditional post-high-school activities. It
might be about something I learned related to budgeting, homemaking, grocery
shopping, or cooking. It might be a photo story of a “day-in-the-life.” It
might be a humorous account, such as the time I had my afternoon plans
carefully laid out, and it was all foiled by a hole in my tire or a rejected
check. It might be a post about some of the fun things I’ve gotten to
do/experience as an intern at our church.
I
want my comments to be filled with questions! I want to keep this blog for the
benefit and encouragement of others. I want to blog about what you want to
hear! So send me your questions! It can pretty much be anything related to my life.

This is great! Thanks for taking your time to keep us informed! What is College Plus?
This is Beth, by the way. For some reason the only way I can comment is anonymously.
Hi Bianca! That's neat that you are in the worship team at your church! I am too. What do you play? Or are you just a singer? I sing. :)
Have a wonderful day!
In Christ,
Alexis
Thank you for your comment, Beth! Welcome to my blog! College Plus is the online Christian program I will be using to earn my Bachelor's degree. They focus on discovering your life purpose, learning marketable skills, and then launching into the life God has called you to. Going through their program, I will also earn my degree at a fraction of the normal cost, and should finish in 2-3 years instead of the traditional 4. I hope to do more posts about CP in the future!

Thank you for your comment, Alexis! I play the piano and keyboard for the worship team. I usually sing too, but I don't have a mic or anything. I really enjoy it!
